D’banj celebrated two decades in music with the release of his single “04.”
Music star D’banj is building anticipation for his upcoming album, “The Entertainer D’Sequel,” set for release on Friday, August 16.
In a newly released trailer, D’banj features an all-star cast, including Mavin Records’ Don Jazzy, Nollywood actor Gideon Okeke, media personality Jimi Akinsola, and himself.
The trailer, reminiscent of an espionage movie, showcases an interrogation scene. The highlight of the trailer is when D’banj says:
Just because the soldier rests his gun doesn’t mean he’s no longer a shooter.
People keep asking me if I’m back, if I’m back.
How can I be back when I never left?
I am the entertainer.

Earlier this year, D’banj marked his 20th anniversary in the music industry with the release of his single “04” in May. He followed up with “Koko” in June, a modern take on his 2005 hit “Tongolo,” and “Worthy,” a collaboration with Senegalese legend Youssou N’Dour and Nigerian-American “The Voice” contestant Chechi Sarai.
These tracks are expected to be included in his forthcoming album.
