One day after Kate Middleton announced she’d completed chemotherapy treatment, her husband Prince William addressed her health journey in a conversation with royal fans.

Prince William is sharing his gratitude.

One day after Kate Middleton announced that she’d completed her chemotherapy treatment, he addressed her health update.

While shaking hands with the residents of Llanelli, South Wales, Sept. 10, William said, per The Sun, “It’s good news, but there is still a long way to go.”

The Princess of Wales shared her health milestone with an intimate video of her spending time with William and their kids Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, as she reflected on her cancer battle.

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” she said in the Sept. 9 Instagram video. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”

“Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus,” she continued. “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am, however, looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”

She concluded the heartwarming message by expressing gratitude for the love they’ve received. “William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time,” she added. “To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness can come light, so let that light shine bright.”

For Kate, leaning on her husband of 13 years was crucial as she went through rounds of preventative chemotherapy.

“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family,” she said in her March video. “Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance.”

Especially since it was challenging to speak with their kids about her condition at first.

“It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I am going to be OK,” she explained. “As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits

Kate Middleton Completes Chemotherapy

On Sept. 9, the Princess of Wales shared that she had completed chemotherapy after being diagnose with an unspecified form of cancer earlier this year.

“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” she said in a video statement. “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”

The royal added, “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”
